Concord: Ash/Debris Cleanup Advisory

Last updated: April 24, 2018, 9:41 am

The large structure fire in Concord consisted primarily of construction materials (predominately wood). Residents should avoid direct contact and inhalation of ash/debris that was produced by the fire. Residents may use a mild soap and water to clean up ash/debris. To minimize dust generation, residents should consider lightly dampening ash/debris prior to commencing sweeping activities. Swept up ash/debris may be placed in a standard household trash receptacle. Any towels or cleaning materials should be rinsed in a sink that drains to a sanitation sewer. Residents should avoid washing or sweeping ash/debris into storm drains, as this will result in pollution accumulating in nearby creeks and rivers.

    Reports (PDF): 2017 | 2016 | 2015

The purpose of the Point-in-Time Count (PIT) is to measure homelessness over the course of one night, every January. Although the PIT doesn't tell us everything about our community's needs, it does provide valuable information as to the scope of homelessness, particularly around the number of unsheltered people on the streets and the progress being made to end homelessness. It is also used by local agencies to help plan services and programs appropriately, address strengths and gaps, increase public awareness, and attract resources to help end homelessness.

  • Continuum of Care Annual Report

The Council on Homelessness produces an annual report each fiscal year to link CoC-wide activities with outcomes. The 2016-17 Annual Report provides local data on the population served and the need for additional housing resources. The report also includes a look back on implementation of Coordinated Entry and related activities across the CoC.
