RMP - Crocket Cogeneration
Crockett, CA
Crockett Co-Gen generates electricity using natural gas turbines. The facility is located in Crockett along the Carquinez Strait. The low-pressure steam that is produced during the generation of electricity is used by C&H Sugar, which is adjacent to the Crockett Co-Gen site. The Crockett Co-Gen facility uses aqueous ammonia to remove nitrogen oxide from the stack gas. The nitrogen oxide is formed when the natural gas is burned using air. The aqueous ammonia is the only regulated substance that is used at the facility.
