H1N1 Vaccine Priority Groups Expanded

What:
Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) has expanded priority groups for its free H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccination clinic this Sunday in Pittsburg. The H1N1 vaccine priority groups for the walk-up clinic now include all children 6 months through 18 years old, and adults through 64 years with chronic medical conditions. This is based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the local vaccine supply situation. Both H1N1 and seasonal flu shots will be offered while supplies last.

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, December 6

Who:
The clinic is intended for people living in Contra Costa County. Only the following groups will receive vaccine.
H1N1 vaccine:
- Pregnant women
- Children ages 6 months through 18 years (preexisting health conditions no longer a requirement)
- Adults through 64 years with chronic medical conditions (including asthma, diabetes, heart disease and others)
- People who live with or provide care for infants under 6 months of age (parents, siblings and daycare providers)
Seasonal flu vaccine:
- Anyone who wants to receive it while supplies last
